What Did You Expect? - Marriage Conference with Paul Tripp
Friday, 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM | Saturday, 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM
The Bible reveals that we all bring something destructive into our relationships - sin. But as Paul Tripp explains, we buy into the delusion that our biggest problem is outside of us. We blame our spouse. We blame our circumstances. We rarely take seriously the nature of our own sin. Unlike other marriage resources that diagnosis horizontal problems,
What Did You Expect? helps you fight a much deeper war over the worship of your heart. It's only when you worship God as Creator, Sovereign, and Savior that you will ever love as you should.
What Did You Expect? challenges you to look into the mirror of God's Word and see yourself with clarity. Maybe it is you. Maybe you are selfish. Maybe you love yourself more than your spouse. When you and your spouse reach that level of honesty, you're at the edge of real good things for your marriage.
Online registration for this event is now closed. Tickets will be available at the door.
Childcare is for this event is full, please make other arrangements for your children.
Couple-to-Couple Premarital Mentoring brings the engaged couple together with an experienced couple with a solid not perfect marriage who want to help younger couples build a strong foundation for their marriage, who wants to help younger couples build a strong foundation for their marriage. Mentoring at Fellowship involves four to six informal meetings on a schedule determined by the couples. Your mentors want to hear your story and share theirs in a series of open and transparent conversations. To get started, the couple will complete an online relationship assessment that provides them and their mentors a snapshot of their relationship in 8-10 key areas. This report and an informal, encouraging relationship with your mentors provides the basis for the mentoring experience.
For couples who have not been previously married and do not have children from a previous relationship, we use the Couple Checkup relationship assessment. You can get more information on the Couple Checkup http://www.couplecheckup.com.
Previously Married Couples considering re-marriage and those who have child(ren) from a previous relationship are invited to join a separate premarital track that includes re-married mentor couples. While the areas covered are largely the same, the mentors also address challenges that are unique to stepfamilies in the first 3-5 years. We use the Prepare-Enrich relationship assessment to take advantage of additional emphasis on re-marriage and stepfamily issues. You can find out more about Prepare-Enrich at http://www.prepare-enrich.com. We understand you have all the challenges of a first marriage plus some important additional challenges, and we want to help.
Newly Married D Groups
Newly Married D Groups help couples build Christ-centered marriages and authentic relationships with other newlyweds by sharing their experiences in the first years of marriage. Leader couples are experienced couples in healthy not perfect marriages that want to share their experiences and offer the benefit of what they have learned. If you would like to connect with other newlywed couples to learn how God uses our marriages make us disciples, we invite you to join a Newlywed D Group. The groups are open to everyone and we have groups forming now.
Marriage Renewal is for couples that want to enrich their marriage, as well as for couples whose marriage is in crisis or has chronically struggled. It isn’t a “class” or quick fix. Marriage Renewal focuses on discipleship to Jesus Christ that leads to life transformation, which can result in oneness in marriage. Marriage Renewal is a part of Renew on Tuesday nights. Small groups use curriculum that typically takes four to six months. Click here to read more about Marriage Renewal and other marriage ministries that are a part of Renew.
