When/how did you begin your relationship with Jesus Christ?

was born and raised in Louisiana. I was brought up in a Christian home and came to know Christ at a very early age. My father was a deacon and we were at church pretty much every time the doors were open. In my teen years, I rebelled as a lot of teenagers do, but I also knew there was more to Christ than what I was being taught. I wanted to know more but didn’t know how to go about asking the right questions without feeling I was being disrespectful to my teachers and youth director. My heart longed for more of Jesus. There was a piece of the puzzle missing and I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

As an adult, I moved to North Little Rock where I met my husband, and we attended church every Sunday just as I did when I was young. We became involved in Sunday school classes, teaching in the children’s program, sang in the choir, and doing what I thought was being a “good Christian.” But there was still something missing. It wasn’t until I heard a sermon on God’s surpassing “grace” that my eyes and heart were opened and soon learned just how much God truly loved me for who I was. Knowing Jesus in this way deepened my love for Him so much more richly. This was the missing piece of the puzzle. I didn’t know of God’s grace. This changed my whole outlook on my relationship with Christ and even raising my children and it enriched my marriage tremendously.

What’s one thing about you that others would be surprised to know?
