Where did you grow up?

Born in Russellville, Arkansas and lived in several Arkansas communities before attending and graduating from High School in Cabot.

What was your first job ever?

I had my own landscaping business.

What do you enjoy most about your job at Fellowship?

Seeing others grow in their love for Christ and particularly leaders reaching their full leadership potential for God’s glory.

If you attended college, where did you go?

Bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist and Masters from The University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Tell us about your personal life! Family, hobbies, etc.

My wife Carolyn and have two married daughters—Christy Lax and Cara Dean and six grandchildren. We love reading, movies, and travel together. I like to hunt and fish but do not do them enough to count as hobbies.

What’s your favorite food?

A tie between Cheese Burgers and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups but I have recently had to substitute Cookie’s and Cream Quest Bars.

When/how did you begin your relationship with Jesus Christ?

At age six, I believed, publicly professed faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and was baptized at First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

What’s one thing about you that others would be surprised to know?

My nickname Ranger Ray, known to some of my long-term friends, comes from my training as a U.S. Army Ranger and from having served the 82nd Airborne Division.
