I was fortunate to grow up with parents who were believers and that were very active in serving His church. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of vacation bible school musicals, Kool-Aid, and cookies. My dad was a chairman of deacons, among other roles, and I saw him lead and serve with grace and truth while loving his family. My mom was always nurturing, teaching, and encouraging Christ-followers of all ages. With the strong foundation of serving and loving God laid by my parents, I became a believer at the very early age of seven, professing Jesus as my Savior and being baptized. I have been actively seeking to know him more and to live a life consistent with kingdom values ever since, sometimes better than others. It has always amazed me that the God of the universe would have an interest in knowing me, loving me, and using me. That great love holds me close in times of need and challenges me in times when I fall short of his plan.
I graduated college from Ouachita Baptist University where God grew my love and faith further and where I married my wife Angie. We determined together to put God in the center of our family and we are grateful for how he has blessed that decision. That family now includes four boys who we love deeply and correct occasionally! I’m so grateful for a loving God that gave me Godly parents, blessed me with a godly wife, made me a part of His heavenly family, and allows me to be a part of his ongoing redeeming work.
At Fellowship’s Cabot campus, we have seen God call families to the mission field, heal all types of hurts, and grow faith in new believers all for His glory and fame. We have been a part of sharing the good news that God, in an act of incredible love, sent Jesus to rescue us from our sin, so all who admit their sin and believe in Him can experience His amazing grace.
My prayer is more people will have that opportunity to know God’s love, experience His grace, and grow in the knowledge of the one who is worthy of all our praise – Jesus.
